Louis Vuitton Embraces Maximalism with Playful Mountain-Inspired Collection
As fashion month concluded, Louis Vuitton delivered a striking departure from contemporary minimalist trends, presenting a collection that celebrated bold proportions and whimsical design elements. The show transformed architectural silhouettes into wearable art, featuring oversized geometric outerwear complemented by dramatic statement jewelry and intricate layering techniques.
The presentation began with commanding sleeveless coats featuring exaggerated shoulder lines, many adorned with hoods and crafted from textured wool with spiky finishes and fur accents. These pieces showcased Cubist-inspired shapes as models navigated through the Louvre’s exhibition space, which had been transformed with artificial mountain landscapes paying homage to the Jura Mountains region near the French-Swiss border—the birthplace of the brand’s founder.
The collection emanated a spirit of innocent exploration and imaginative play, evoking memories of childhood adventures and make-believe expeditions.
