Dior Celebrates J’adore Intense Fragrance with Exclusive Beverly Hills Event
Christian Dior Parfums hosted an extravagant celebration for the launch of J’adore Intense at a striking Beverly Hills mansion on Monday night. The luxury fragrance house transformed a $60 million Brutalist architectural masterpiece into an exclusive venue for what they called Club J’adore.
The dramatic concrete residence, featuring towering ceilings and expansive glass windows with panoramic city views, provided the perfect setting for the sophisticated gathering. The venue’s bold architectural style complemented the fragrance’s intense character.
A Bolder Take on the Classic J’adore
Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s perfume creation director, explained the inspiration behind the new concentration. The goal was to amplify the signature J’adore formula while maintaining its distinctive floral DNA. The enhanced version features deeper, more sensual flower essences with an almost edible quality.
The fragrance composition builds upon jasmine, which Kurkdjian describes as the ultimate sensual bloom, enhanced with apricot undertones. The formula includes a fuller rose note and ylang-ylang that adds warmth, all resting on a foundation of sandalwood and vanilla.
Rihanna’s Influence on the Creation
The development process centered around global superstar Rihanna, who serves as the face of the J’adore campaign. Kurkdjian drew inspiration from the multi-faceted nature of the artist’s persona when crafting the scent.
The perfumer emphasized how Rihanna embodies multiple roles simultaneously – as a mother, performer, entrepreneur, and more – representing both playfulness and seriousness, sensuality and gentleness. This complexity influenced the fragrance’s layered composition.
Although Rihanna was anticipated to attend the celebration, she was notably absent following reports of a security incident at her Los Angeles residence the previous day, which reportedly prompted her departure from the city. Despite her absence, guests remained hopeful for a surprise appearance throughout the evening.
Star-Studded Guest List
The exclusive gathering attracted notable figures from the fashion and entertainment industries. Véronique Courtois, who serves as chairman and CEO of both Parfums Christian Dior and LVMH’s beauty division, was among the distinguished attendees.
The guest list included Dior brand ambassadors Yuko Araki, Harriet Herbig-Matten, and Nicole Wallace, alongside house friends Lana Condor, Skai Jackson, Alexandra Shipp, and Jurnee Smollett.
Entertainment and Atmosphere
The evening featured diverse musical entertainment, with performances by DJ duo Doppelganger Paris, DJ Kitty Ca$h, and DJ Inferno. Grammy Award-winning pianist Brian Kennedy provided an elegant touch with his performance at a grand piano positioned against the illuminated city skyline.
Guests explored the property’s concrete terraces and intimate lounge areas while enjoying specially crafted cocktails that reflected the fragrance’s floral notes. The drink menu included Vodka Jasmine, Tequila Rose, and Vodka Ylang Ylang, creating a sensory connection to the featured fragrance.
The celebration extended well into the early hours, with the mansion’s basement level opening to guests at 10 p.m., two hours after the party began. Attendees moved between different areas of the estate, including stops at the pool table for photographs, creating an atmosphere of relaxed luxury befitting the prestigious fragrance launch.
